Like a Star @ heaven I started my day out with my mile walk. I listened to a relaxation tape while I walked.

Like a Star @ heaven I've been drinking as much water as I can remember to drink today.

Like a Star @ heaven I started using the Body Clutter Investigator.

WTG Sam! Thanks for driving the FLYBODY ship. Very Happy

I'mmmm backkkkk! I am almost all better but good enough to get back on the dreadmill (I just love that) every day without coughing up a lung. I have been drinking my water and eating breakfast. I found the perfect one for me: raw oatmeal with soymilk, raisins and nuts. Don't "ewww!" me until you try it! Yummola.

wow internettie... I am mucho impressed. You really did some serious walking and I am sooooo proud of you. Great job sweetie!

Heidi - welcome back girlie! Raw outmeal? Got allota crunch in that cereal. What does the milk do to the raw oatmeal. Are you cooking it at all, or eating it raw? Looks very low carb... curious minds wanna know.

Oatmeal from the Quaker man right out of the cylynder thingy into the bowl. For cold I use the rolled oats, not quick oats. Add soy milk, raisins and nuts. That's it. The milk will mush it up after a while like any cereal.

In winter, I will do the microwave thing. Oats, water and fruit. I store bags of frozen peaches and berries so I just plunk a little frozen chunk in before I microzap it and that sweetens it enough. I guess you could add brown sugar and cinnamon. Those predone instant oatmeals are SO full of salt/sugar and they take just as long to make.

***Raw groats are the same but not processed. You have to soak those. When I say "raw oatmeal" I mean rolled oats that I am not cooking. They do steam rolled oats in the slicing process (added for those who may be trying to eat a really raw foods diet.)

Oatmeal volcanos! EEK!

You are doing fine - just eat oatmeal and watch how it makes you feel. If your blood sugar is whacking out you may need to find good carbs (which we totally do need) in other ways. Very Happy

Oats/groats are just like any grain - there are several levels of processing and the further you go the further away from healthy you get. Like wheat grass, wheat berries, wheat flour, bleached wheat flour (white). There are more steps in there.

The more processed a grain is the less fiber, more chemicals added and the more glucose is released which is not cool in your diabetic state. White bread has a high glycemic index and you may as well eat sugar. Removing the bran (outer) and inner germ (the area with the viamins and minerals) leaves you with sugar part of the grain which is there to feed the plant but messes with you.

The goal is to eat veggies, fruits and whole grains for your carbs. There is a sneak in here by the FDA. They will allow a manufacturer to label a loaf of white bread as whole grain if they spinkle some grains on top. You have to read the labels.

Does that make sense? Gah...I am gonna find one of my bookmarks for you. Um...well...AH! Here it is.
